Project Description

Back on November 19, 2014, the Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School had the honor of being host to the one and only Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

Sonia Sotomayor, who is an icon in the United States Supreme Court, but more so in the Latin American community, was invited in to Carlos Rosario School to tour, greet, and help enrich the minds for students and faculty; by way of discussing a variety of life lessons as well as a lecture of her own personal history.

Given the significance of this past event, the school recently contracted Creative Jestures to help in commemorating the historical occasion by bringing to life a biographical timeline/exhibit of her life, along with celebration of her visit, that they are calling “Sonia Sotomayor Way”.

The fully custom designed exhibit was created using multiple full sized panels to visually help and engage with students of all different comprehension levels. The project is an opportunity to honor Sonia’s life work and also to continually help celebrate her visit.

With using just a bit of provided photos and information, we created from scratch a truly unique installation that will live within the school halls from here on out; and serves as a constant reminder to their school community that anything can be possible with hard work and good intentions.
